The Tour, for us, actually started yesterday afternoon at Totally Auto's newly restored shop in Feasterville Pa. But the story actually starts back just a bit.

For the past few month's we've been working on plopping an Indy motor and some other goodies in the ORIGINAL MoPowerTour Lead Vehicle from 5-years ago. But...... Due to uncontrollable circumstances, (THE WIFE AND I BLEW IT UP), we made a last minute change. Instead of stealing HER 20th Birthday present; Orange 70 R/T SE Challenger, we're commandeering her 25th wedding anniversary present; an Orange 2009 srt Challenger, (shown all lettered up in pic 1).

So we hit the ground running Friday at noon heading west towards Madison Wisconsin. A mere 989 miles from home. Incidentally, the two odometers, both on the 70 and the 09, both read 280 when I left home.

Of course, we didn't nickname it the Shower-Tour for nothing.
For our start..... how's a thousand miles of RAIN!?

Halfway through the trip, we did manage to catch the GPS reading just 426 miles till the START of the tour. With just 6+ hours to go we put the pedal to the metal, using all of the HEMI's 425 horses.

After playing around with some Porsche Carrera thingy, we drove off into the sunset, the only sun we saw, that day. That's when we got an interesting phone call from Mopar Collectors Guide Mag man, Robert Wolf. Seemed he needed to see an email on some MoPowerTour logistics.

At that point we were only going 90! lol
Notice the odometer, 1000-miles, what a way to break in a new car!

So anyway, I told him this, "Rob, we're going 90, I've got half a pack o smokes, half a tank o gas and I'm wearing dark sunglasses at night. We're just outside of Chicago but hey we're online anyway"! So we shot him the email!

The next morning we found out what a bug catcher is.

We made the Venue in RECORD time and were greeted by quite a nice flock of Mopars.

And this guy....... who brought his own park bench. Look for more on that in MCG!

and then there was this..... just kidding.

Just off the presses, well, email.
We have been invited to a party during the trip tomorrow. Word has it that Quaden Dodge (Okauchee WI.) is holding its 27th and last, Mopar Only Car Show put on by the Wisconsin Mopar Muscle Club. Sadly this well established dealer is closing as so many are. WE'LL BE THERE!
