BRINGS YOU THE MOPAR ONLY

Welcome to MoPowerTour Day Six
Somerset Ky.

As luck would have it, our morning meeting place was alive and full of Mopars. Full it seems until many left after some confusion over starting/leave times. Originally, we posted some leave times, subject to change....and change they did. Unfortunately, some did not see the postings of NEW times. See, Hot Rod listed times for the event and as we were attempting to stay on or near the Official Tour this year, we followed their times. Later, we found that the times they listed were, "gates open" times and the Tour actually left about an hour later. Subsequently, we bumped our LEAVE times one hour and the MoPowerTour inadvertently became a Part 1 and Part 2.
In an attempt to get EVERYBODY together for the last leg of the trip please note the following;
Friday Morning June 12. 9:00 departure from:
BOB EVANS
3061 N HWY. 27
Somerset, KY
.....but we'll be there at 8AM! Give-or-take-Rob-time, lmao

Leaving Dayton, the skies just didn't look good. Just typical Power Tour in the Midwest in June.

We were going to make some kinda joke here about breakfast and lunch but we just plum felt bad for these folks.....knowing what they were heading into.

The early morning was rather mundane as we discussed how we missed the two-lane-blacktop of past tours.

The two fine gents in this HEMI ragtop risked plopping down the top, as we headed South towards Kentucky. A choice they may have just regretted later. During our lunch stop, the only time it really rained, they left the top down as we sat dry, inside, having taco's. Can you say squishy tushy?

Some questioned why, as we are nearing the END of the Tour, Rob decided to buy an Atlas!

Regardless, with our tanks full and what appeared to be just another day, we took the time to wring them out in the rain...again.

Until we hit Kentucky that is.........

......As if on a shot of caffeine, the Mopars came alive, the day warmed up and the beautiful Kentucky roads welcomed us like an old friend!

By far the best driving day, the best roads and the best scenery of the entire Tour!

I mean, with roads like this and a car like the Challenger.....Tour? What Tour? It was ON!

With each little town a Mopar joined in... a Mopar dropped back, it was all-good!

All the while, Rob Wolf was photographing the whole MoPoweredTour (from the passenger seat of the LEAD VEHICLE), for upcoming articles in Mopar Collectors Guide.
NOTE: If you see him with his head out the window, camera in hand- do not pass! Just follow his hand gestures, (the appropriate ones that is) and allow him to get the shot. That's your best chance of seeing your car as part of the tour coverage in MCG!

As we approached from behind we saw what appeared to be half-a-horse in the back of this guys truck. when we pulled alongside, he greeted us with the rest. Um.... don't ask. OHK?

Mile after mile of great roads, beautiful small towns, Kentucky ROCKS!

Almost too soon, we arrived at the Venue in Somerset.
Useless Somerset KY., info you may like to know;
*Home of the Somernites Cruise.
The largest monthly car show in the state.
*Lake Cumberland is one of the largest man-made lakes in the world - 101 miles in length, averaging 85 feet deep and containing more then 2 trillion gallons of water!

This little guy was cool with his hot rod electric fan.

And so was this wagon! Way cool. Wagons are a dime-a-dozen nowadays on the Tour and many are just cobbled poo but, this was one was nicely done!

Hey, whatcha doin' there?

And you thought people looked like their dogs.....lol

Our 09 shirts have become very popular. The art for this year's collector shirt was provided FREE by John Skidmore skidscustoms.com, (although I think I now owe him a paintjob on his cruise ship 300 convert).

And with that..... we were off....in another traffic jam that is.

There it is, just one more stop till the end, then its homeward bound! Before we know it, it'll be all over but for tonight its gambling in the parking lot with friends, new and old. CYA!
