BRINGS YOU THE MOPAR ONLY

Day 3
6/8/08
Springfield, MO

|
Last night we opened Totally Auto South in an Arkansas hotel parking lot, while Newt threw a set of plugs in Bills still hot Runner.........

.....I repaired the damage caused by that butt-head transporter..........

Later we had a bowling tournament thanks to the built in Wii in the Mopowered wagon. Funny how as we get older, adult entertainment has a whole new meaning. Funnier yet is the fact that we were barred from the hotel parking lot by some kid with a fro, just after a bit of Guitar Hero!

Newbies to the Long Haul Gang are Steve Brussich and his darling daughter Tiana now sporting their new for 08 MoPowered Tour swag! Although Steve owns the 100th car built by Totally Auto, ( a cool T/A) he chose this beautiful, near survivor 64 Dart GT ragtop, a four-speed to boot, for the 08 ride.

Off and running it was an awesome day for a drive! The RMS suspended Barracuda handled like a dream. It is amazing how compliant the ride is! I've driven cars with other brand aftermarket suspensions but the Reilly Motor Sports deal is subtle yet goes around corners like the tires are glued to the road! The car handles like a drifter, rides like my Magnum and stops like a Hyabusa!

As the day wore on, we continued a Mopowered Tour tradition and fed the cars some Chevies.

This time however, we decided to also feed ourselves. We stopped at this really cool old school diner and had a great lunch.

After........ we all needed a rest stop. We thought the name of the place was a little different but not as weird as the sign we found in the bathroom. Notice that not only did they have a problem spelling "come" they didn't quite get "toilet" right either......

With all that out of the way we hit the ground running and laid down some serious miles.

Along the way we bumped into this bunch. The Pacer has been featured in several magazines but I fell in love with the R/T SE Challenger. They were happy when we threw them a few Mopowered Tour T-shirts to wear along the way.

Speaking of love..... My oldest daughter Cara gave me this cross at Carlisle, the same day we bought the Barracuda. I hung it on the rearview and there it stayed through the entire build at Totally Auto.

While we were enjoying the Arctic blasts from our Classic Auto Air A/C, Linda found a more fuel efficient way of cooling off in the wagon. BLUE water ice!

Yes, we are traveling in some rare and expensive Mopars, through the tornado belt, during tornado season! This scene is one of many across the Mid-west.

After a beautiful ride through the Ozark mountains, we arrived at the Missouri Entertainment Complex where this Herbie promptly fell in love with my B'Cuda.

Maybe it’s a Ryan family thing but Mike found a better way of cooling off too. Here, he and Timmy are installing a cooling fan to help chill the mighty MoPowered Wagon! Jordan, the slicker of the four, was chillin in the Air conditioned hotel room.

And with that, we’re off! Time for a shower and sum grub. and maybe a car wash. No, maybe to bed.
