BRINGS YOU THE MOPAR ONLY

Day 2
6/7/08
Arkansas

|
Side by side for the first time, the Mopowered Tour vehicles roll in to Arkansas, ready for action.

Here’s a switch. the bikers are griping about loud pipes.

Introducing the Ryan family piloting the Mopowered Tour Chase vehicle: Mike, Linda, Tim and Jordan. Please note the load in the back of their wagon. Mike literally had to install re-ached springs.

“Daaaaaaddy, I don’t want to ride in your Chevy.” This little dude wanted his picture taken in our Mopar BAD, and we were quick to oblige. Who says you aren’t born a Mopar lover?

Regular Mopowered Tour Participant Bill Uhl, is a Long Hauler this year. Being a big time “oil tycoon“, Bill enlisted Dave to teach him how to use the time clock. One of the many rules of the “official” tour, at each stop we must clock in to prove just who is actually going the long haul.

It’s nice to arrive at a a venue and find a pair of wing cars accompanied by a flock of Mopowered Tour followers ready to get their week of fun started.

Speaking of nice, Rob soon learned that long time Mopowered Tour participant Joanne Nabor found her Daytona in need of headwork the day before the tour began. Local Arkansas shop and Superbird owner Ken Presley, didn’t hesitate to work until 1:00am swapping the heads to remedy her problem.

Nearly always a flawless running machine, Bills 440-6bbl Runner acted up early this trip. Its funny how that sort of thing never happens near home.

Speaking of acting up, Newts car, well….. We don’t know what happened there.

For all his hard work and effort in supporting the MoPowered Tour, we thought hard of a way to thank Mike. Then it hit me, we have had this antique Mopar hood ornament sitting around the shop for ages. NOS or rechromed, whatever, it fit the bill and Mikes hood perfectly as a surprise “thank you”.

And S U R P R I S E! It took a chunk outa his hand as he walked by it!!

And then we were off in a flash with day one under our empty bellied belts. We thought, 100mph seemed just the right way to break in that new HEMI, don’t you agree. That ones for you, Taylor Skidmore! You may remember Taylor from last years tour, well, today she graduated high school! Way2go Tay!
At this point its just been many 18 hour days getting ready for all this and, I’ve yet to sleep since yesterday so, Until tomorrow, roll on!
