Meanwhile, we continued to burn fuel at a rate fast enough to burn most of our credit card limits!

Hitting the back roads does give one the feeling that there's still many a great find to be found out there!

And a GPS is a tremendous tool for doing just that. I can tell you from experience that it can be VERY stressful when you are leading a few dozen cars through rough neighborhoods, down crowded city streets, all while looking for a place for gas, or for the girls to ummmm, powder their noses. The GPS is the automotive equilivant of Xanax!

The girls on the other hand have been angels! I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Kelsey just continues to be spirited and is cracking us all up daily. Cara turned out to be an AWESOME navigator and map reader. And Taylor is just so cute I can't help but hug her each time she passes by! Thanks girls, you all made this trip very special!

And Timmy seems like he's got a smile permanently pressed into his cheeks!

John jumped in with Mike for a ride in the 'cuda while Timmy and Newt joined forces in the Hemi Challenger. John, a Florida realtor, has been selling properties along the way and calls this trip, work?

The Skidmores really know how to have a good time and enjoy each others company. They made us all a better team and Tay is already signed on for next years Tour, wherever it goes!
The two have set off a spark with Rob, (MOPAR COLLECTORS GUIDE) and myself (TOTALLY AUTO) for next year.
YOU READ IT HERE FIRST! The 2008 MoFamily Tour. Stay tuned!

And now a few words from each of us.....
There is something enjoyable in traveling a couple thousand miles in a supercar, surrounded by any high horsepower car, any year, make, model you can imagine. That itself would make a nice trip. Throw in the brotherhood reinforced in times of need, as was proven with both situations that came up for Skids and Charlie. Then top it off with the fresh look, the fresh faces, the wonder in the eyes of those kids and man...... life is GOOD! Dave Ferro
Well where to start. This trip has been absolutely amazing, between spending quality time with dad, rep;acing axle bearings on the middle of.............(nowhere), and doing over nite engine swaps it has really been a great time. Even though the beginning of the trip started out with rain everyday all day( except when we stopped) there's nothing like cruising down the highway at high speeds with a bunch of other Mopars in the middle of nowhere. I have to thank Dave for giving me the opportunity to do this trip and letting my play hooky from work. I couldn't of asked to spend a week with a better group of guys, we all had a blast. Question was "would you do it again?" Only answer to that is "in a heart beat" Thanks for the great times and memories.........Tim Ryan
Speechless......... John Skidmore (Skids)
This has been quite an adventure, especially taking a 1700 mile trip in a car that my son and I finished 2 weeks before the tour. The experience of spending 7 nite's in a row with with a great group of guys is burnt into my memory as much was the sweltering heat in the south. I want to thank Newt for sharing his chicken and biscuits, and hopefully if anyone finds my hat that blew out the window at 100 mph in 90 mph crosswinds you can contact Dave for mailing address. I look forward to next year and the memories that follow .....Thanks! Mike Ryan
I can't express in words what this week has meant to me but I'll give it a shot. As a veteran of the Mopower Tour since its beginning with Dave, Rob and Bill I know the fun we have and I know the stress of it as well. This year however, the stress was overwhelming. Every leg of the tour, my car was getting worse and worse and I stressed more and more. I doused every one of their cars in an oil spray. No one complained though. Then came Evansville when my motor gave us the ghost. I was sitting there figuring out how to get a trailer to pick the car up and get it and me home. All the while, Rob and Dave were working a deal with Indy Cyl heads and Mopar Performance as well as Doug Duell from Evansville Chrysler. All of them went out of their way for me. Next thing I knew, my car was being ripped apart and I'm getting an Indy Stroker Motor. Newt, Timmy, and Mike worked like a land based tsunami as a team. You couldn't have assembled a crew like this if you tried. It just happens. The guys at Evansville Chrysler, Skids jumping around helping anyway he could, Cara, Taylor and Kelsey, stuck it out until after 3 in the morning without so much as a whiney. John, keeping everyone entertained as usual.
How do I say "thank you" to all of you? All I can say is I am grateful for your help, your spirit and most importantly your friendship., You've left an impression on me that I will carry forever. This, is what life, friends and family is all about.
Dave, we started this together and you really stuck to your "never leave a man behind" philosophy. My friend, my brother, I Thank you. Now, tell me who needs hotel rooms where and how many, are we trucking to the start and from the back, and does anyone have a preference for hotels? Charlie Dallas
I cant thank the group of old and new friends enough, who made this years tour the best ever, i couldn't have scripted a better adventure! Rob Wolf
Newt's not here right now...he's out doing the laundry.
Kids? Who knows where they are, but we trust them. Actually Cara and Taylor are doing hair and nails as Kelsey takes a swim. Sure, we gave them a few nights off but hey, the Power Tour is after all a vacation!

The 2007 MoPowerTour has sadly come to an end. Ending the trip, the very way we started it at my place. A few cold ones by the pool, just a bunch of good friends hanging out! We've traveled 1797.00 miles and burned an oil field of gas but, for real; IT'S BEEN A BLAST!

Gotta fly, the party for tonight has just begun! Check back often and check out the October issue of Mopar Collector's Guide magazine for expanded coverage of this years maham as well as new updates and early plans for the 2008 MoFamily Tour. Plan to join the fun, we'll be lookin for Ya! Mom's, kids, girlfriends, family members, and Juliet, we miss you all, we're on our way and will see you all soon!
And now we say adios.
