OK, the sun came out and I was dumped for a convertible!

Off on a sunny drop-top kinda day. The kids were happy as clams and so were the girls, lol!

Back on the American IDLE tour, we were all slowed due to another Chebbbie!

The Girls were very excited when we informed them they would be meeting Ultimate Blues/rock musician and all around GREAT guy Kenny Wayne Shepherd! Their biggest concern was that their hair would be a mess when they got to meet the star!

As a joke we called ahead and asked Kenny to pick on Cara and make some statement about her hair. Just days before as we were all standing outside one morning waiting for Cara; she stated, "Don't those guys understand hair is important?" Guess Kenny missed that meeting as his was more messed up than convertible-head Cara. Thanks Man! You made the girls day! While talking, we made plans with Kenny for another, now traditional, Thursday nite bowling match. Stay tuned for that.

Ouch but........ while culminating over 1500 miles so far on this trip, things happen.

I got some dyno time in with the Magnum at home and she purred like a tiger! What was supposed to be 425HP at the crank from the factory is now a whopping 591.82. WHOA! That's 466 horsepower at the rear wheels! Should be good enough to get the 4500 pound (with driver; not counting camera gear, T-Shirts, tools, etc.) Wagon down the track in the 12's. Guess we'll see at one of the tracks along the way. I ran a SJ Rustang the other day and got him by several car length's! When he finally rolled up beside me, he asked, "Whatcha got done to that thing"?
My answer was simple, "I dunno, its just my Moms wagon!"
His reply can not be printed here.
Today we got some more runs and the boiling Magnum didn't disappoint. The Hot Rod TV announcer went crazy, as did the crowd when, we told them we just borrowed Moms wagon for the week and had to return it by Monday. According to the announcer, a respectable 446 horse power at the rear wheels will "get the milk home without spoiling".

All the while, Charlie split for an auto parts store and instead wound up at the shop of Tim Wilkerson, (T.W. Racing Inc. These kind fellers helped him out with a good attempt at keeping Smokey the B-body on the road! A BIG THANKS FOR THE HOSPITALITY! What luck to have A TOP FUEL RACE SHOP RIGHT NEXT DOOR TO OUR HOTEL! Speaking of hotels, we find it funny that we keep getting room number 440 446 and 426 except Charlie who loves 456. HEY, while I'm doing all this work, they are all outside having a blast? CYA!
