We made it!
Have not figured out exactly how many miles, or how much gas we used, but I only spent about 500.00 bucks! It's really reasonable when you split up the rooms and gas with so many good folks. The trip is one I'll never forget. AND THOSE TWO CARS!!! It was like crisscrossing the country with a rope attached to our bumpers. |

| Frank was in charge of refreshments, and man, that's one dude to party with! Charlie, remarked how those late night conversations with Dave and Frank reminded him of how it might have been between Tom Hoover and Dick Landy, back in the day. Nothing weird in Franks mouth, that's a VICTORY CIGAR! Despite all the razzing' everybody got along like a band of merry men. Even Gary wound up being a guy who could not only dish it out, but could take it as well. |

We did get to display our cars at the Coker Tire booth.
The guys there were heard to say, "What did 'ya do to our tires?" I answered, "well, we used 'em" |

By day's end it was time to drop Charlie at the airport. A good friend will bail you out of jail. A great friend will be sitting there next to you. Glad we didn't have the chance to find that out, man. I have to give Charlie credit, he typed most of this mess to you under demanding circumstances. Having two accomplished writers, (Rob and I), one in each ear, both with two distinct writing styles, dictating in a hotel room well.........if our memoirs seem a bit bouncy....you should have seen his eyeballs. Anyway, the night seemed to be bumming as this one came to a close, until............

The next morning was rather foggy as we headed out for our LONG HAULER award. The Classic Auto Air, dehumidified defrosters worked really well this day. Wish they had something that worked that well on my head...

It didn't say anything about doing this....... call it a parting shot.
I really want to thank Skids at skidscustoms.com. He stayed up many a late night, (many I know, past his bedtime), posting all this stuff for all of you. Hey, I just heard from my sister, (owner of a 2000 Vette). Seems there was a rash of urine smell in Vette's around the nation, wonder what that's all about? |

The real LONG HAULER award should be handed over when you make it home.
A long ride? YES! A good time? God yea! I'd start it all over again, right now. Diane, sorry, the car was rode hard and put away wet. To everybody else; Give me a chance to get some rest and I'll post some more memories soon.
